Apple Inc Unveils iPhone 16 Pro, Pro Max, with AI-Focused Design and New Physical Camera Button.
Apple has unveiled the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, both crafted with Apple Intelligence at the forefront. Offered in two sizes—6.1 inches for the iPhone 16 and 6.7 inches for the Plus—these devices are made with aerospace-grade aluminum and incorporate 85% recycled materials. The action buttons are customizable, allowing users to quickly access key functions such as the flashlight or calendar.
The iPhone 16 Pro features a more durable design, with a ceramic shield that is 50% stronger against scratches and drops, constructed from “aerospace grade” aluminum, titanium, Apple says. “The iPhone 16 Pro features a Grade 5 titanium design with a new, refined microblasted finish.”
The models are available in four colors: Black Titanium, White Titanium, Natural Titanium, and the new Desert Titanium.
The 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display offers a resolution of 2622 by 1206 pixels.
A notable addition to the iPhone 16 is a new dedicated camera button on the side of the device, allowing for quick and easy photo capture. This feature addresses user demand for more convenient camera access and control. Additionally, the 16 Pro supports 4K 120 fps video recording in Dolby Vision.
The iPhone 16’s new 3-nanometer A18 chip is specifically designed to power Apple’s generative AI models. This chip gives you a 6-core CPU with four efficiency cores, delivering up to 30% faster performance than its predecessor while improving power efficiency.
The GPU also sees enhancements, offering increased power and 35% better power efficiency.
iPhone 16 is one of only two iPhone models capable of running Apple’s Apple Intelligence, along the Pro 15. This integration aims to provide users with more advanced and personalized experiences.
The latest iterations will be available for pre-order starting September 13 at 3:00 p. m. EAT, with general availability beginning September 20, 2024.

Apple is offering trade-in options, with customers able to get $40 to $650 off a new iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Plus when trading in an iPhone 7 Plus or newer model.
